During Final Fantasy Fest 2023, producer Naoki Yoshida shared some amazing details about the graphics update. The main focus is on making the game look even better with higher-resolution textures and shadows. But don’t worry, they are keeping the familiar look of the characters that we all love.

After the success of Endwalker, Shadowbringers, Stormblood, and Heavensward, Dawntrail is the fifth expansion, and it will be released in the summer of 2024. But that’s not all, Dawntrail will also be available on Xbox for the first time next year!
FFXIV Graphics Upgrades
Yoshida said, “We’re making sure your updated character will still feel like your character,” which means all characters, including the ones controlled by the game (NPCs), will have nicer hair, eyes, and skin. Other than graphic upgrades on characters, here are some of the FFXIV content that will get a makeover:

- The armor and objects will shine even more with improved reflections and lighting effects, making the game world feel more real and immersive.
- Nature enthusiasts will also be happy with the update, as the plants and vegetation in the game will have brighter and more colorful graphics. This will make the world look more beautiful without slowing down the game.
- Another cool change is the dye system. Players will be able to use up to two different colors on their gear, allowing them to customize their appearance even more. However, this won’t apply to certain housing items.
